Good News from the Cikarang Congregation in August

Visit from Pastor Tobing Gunawan GKDI Cikarang is grateful that in the midst of the struggles of the mission, Pastor Tobing Gunawan from the Semarang congregation came to visit. They also brought Pastor Tobing's first daughter, Clairine, who will study at President University. The arrival of Clairine as well as Akwila (a teen from the Medan congregation and the son of Pastor Iwan/Umi) will strengthen the Cikarang campus ministry that is being built.

Pastor Tobing taught in the Sunday service on August 5, 2018. He shared a message from the word that the congregation should love and support one another, and also guard unity of heart in ministry.

Leaders Go To KEEP IT LIT! (August 6-12, 2018) On August 6-12, all the leaders of GKDI Cikarang attended the KEEP IT LIT conference in Penang and Ipoh, Malaysia. This was certainly a special joy for the Cikarang congregation, because their leaders had the opportunity to take part in an international conference.

Their participation in this conference comforted the longing of the leaders to get to know congregations from other countries. In addition, they also learned from one another and saw God's work in the mission of evangelism throughout Asia. Praise be to the name of the Lord!

Putting love into practice While the leaders were attending the conference in Malaysia, the single disciples in Cikarang continued the mission and ministry. This was remarkable because most of them were new disciples (young Christians), along with friends who were taking part in Bible Study. It was truly encouraging to see them take the initiative to visit friends who were sick and weak. They are learning to love and show care in the midst of busy work schedules. The good news is that after that visit, some of them came back to worship together.

Bible Study friends ready to be baptized The Cikarang congregation will gain several new disciples. They are people who are willing to persevere in Bible Study and open their hearts to receive the truth of the word. Helena and Lince's three friends (campus) as well as Tony (single) have decided to be baptized. They only need to strengthen their resolve so that by the time of the baptism, every issue has been settled. To God be the glory!
