Welcome to our church website. GKDI stands for Gereja Kristus Di Indonesia, we are part of the International Churches of Christ.
God designed the church to be his earthly household with Jesus as the standard and chief cornerstone; and that’s what Gereja Kristus Di Indonesia (GKDI) stands for. GKDI is not a perfect church but a church striving for perfection in Christ. It is a melting pot where people from different walks of lives, gather and worship God, growing to be more like Christ.
Three Reasons to Consider Us
It’s a place to HONOR our Heavenly Father. Despite of our limitation, we aim for offering ourselves as living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him. We strive to love Him with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength.
It’s a place we call HOME. No longer foreigners and strangers, we are fellow citizens with God’s people and members of His Family. We learn to be completely humble and gentle; with patience, bearing with one another in love. We want to build the culture of encouraging one another daily and spurring each other on, building one another toward love and good deeds.
It’s a place of HOPE. It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. Jesus has not come to call the righteous, but sinners. Compelled by His Love, we no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died for us and was raised again. We would like to offer support to those in need and help many to understand the Word of God, the source of Eternal HOPE.
Helpful Hints and FAQs
What to Expect During Your Visit?
What are your services like?
Many describe our service as uplifting, loving and deep. Make sure you come 30-15 minutes early for the fellowship. Service typically lasts about 100 minutes and includes singing, a reflective communion sharing, and a life-guiding Bible oriented sermon.
What should I wear?
We don’t have dress code. When you come you will see people wearing everything from t-shirt, batik, and even suits. Please wear what makes you comfortable worshiping God.
What about my kids?
For kids from playground to 6th grade, we offer you the Kids Kingdom where children will be provided a fun bible-related activities according to their age, allowing the parents to attend the service.
Can I take the communion?
As a guess we don’t have expectation for you to participate in the communion. However, if you want to take communion at our service, you are welcome to do so.
How much should I give to the offering?
Like the communion, don’t feel obligated to give to our weekly offering unless you want to. If you want to give your offering in cash, the offering pouch will be distributed after the sermon. We also have a bank account if you want to give your offering through transfer.
How do I become a member?
We believe that the church is just a body of believers who have become true followers of Jesus. If you wish to be a part of this church, your first step is to study the Bible to find out what Jesus expects of his followers. To set a Bible study or attend a Bible talk Group, simply contact a member or a Bible talk leader near your geographic location.
