At present the people of Indonesia are experiencing the pandemic Covid-19, whose transmission is very rapid. Therefore, the government has adopted a policy to work from home (work from home) and self-quarantine (self-quarantine), as part of efforts to carry out social restrictions (social distancing). This has caused several religious gatherings to be canceled to prevent a wider spread.
But this does not prevent the disciples from continuing to love God and others. With advances in technology, the disciples can still hold worship services online and have-fellowship by using applications for video call. In fact, Bible study activities are still continuing, even though we are being hit by a pandemic disease.
Good News from Lampung
Although they must hold worship services online, this has not reduced their zeal. The brothers and sisters in Teens, Campus, and Single Ministry invited 6 of their friends to join the online service. Meanwhile, in Married Ministry or among the married, they invited 2 friends to join the online service.
Good News from Solo
Amid these uncomfortable conditions, God gave an opportunity for the Solo congregation to help a married couple, Mason & Widya, who live in San Jose, United States, to study the Bible. At that time, they were staying in Solo for one month to visit their family.
Within a period of 2 weeks, the brothers and sisters in Solo helped them come to know God. On March 18, they made the decision to become disciples of Jesus. They have now returned to America and are following worship services and discipleship online there.
Good News from Batam
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, God is working through the Batam congregation. Even in conditions like this, the congregation has never lost heart in continuing to glorify His name. On March 24, 2020, Single Ministry Batam baptized a sister named Juli.
Good News from Malang
For the congregation in Malang, challenges are not a reason not to love one another. This was proven by Campus Ministry, which lovingly helped 1 brother be won in Christ. On March 15, 2020, Samuel was baptized. This became an inspiration for ministry others and the congregation as a whole.
Good News from Nias
Although the spread of coronavirus caused the congregation to practice social restrictions (social distancing), we are grateful because Sunday worship can still proceed smoothly online. They have not lost faith or become discouraged. Through online video call, they can still stay connected with one another.
That afternoon, the Nias congregation helped 1 sister, Puji, make the decision to become a disciple of Jesus and be baptized. They are currently also helping 2 other sisters make the decision to become disciples of Jesus.
