Growing and Bearing Fruit with a Heart Full of Love

A heart filled with love and a passion to help other people live will encourage us to keep growing and bearing fruit in the Lord. Riana, a student at one of the universities in Palangka Raya who has been a disciple of Jesus since October 2017, has proved it. 

Beginning with a sense of loneliness because she lived far from her family, Riana used her time by getting involved in a number of organizations and spiritual communities. She became one of the leaders of the Christian student fellowship on her campus, and even joined an evangelistic mission to Central Kalimantan during a college break.

Even though she had a lot of experience in ministry, Riana kept a heart that was willing to help and love others. This kept her humble so that she could easily see the truth of God's word, and be honest when she had to correct her life and character. She realized that being involved in many spiritual activities did not automatically make her spiritual life right. While studying the Bible at GKDI Palangka Raya, Riana struggled to live out the word herself, and to change many of her bad character traits. She also learned to make peace with her younger siblings, and to ask her parents for forgiveness.

After understanding the meaning of true love and becoming a disciple of Christ, Riana never grew tired of inviting her friends to build a right relationship with God. The love she offered them was not in vain. One of her close friends, Fitri, decided to become a disciple of Jesus in October 2018, after being helped to know God for a year. Likewise her classmate, Lya, was finally won over in February 2019. Not only that, at present one of Riana's juniors is also studying God's word deeply.

Even now, Riana continues to strive after growth in her faith. Besides actively serving in Song Ministry, she is also involved in the ministry of Kerajaan Kanak-Kanak. During the past two years, she has taken part in the retreat Nusantara campus. This has strengthened her conviction in God's work in her life even more. Now, Riana has been entrusted to guide two people in her group. She has a dream that more and more of her friends and family members will be won for the Lord. Amen. To God be the glory!
