Good News from the Malang Congregation - Anton

Following God with Sincerity of Heart and Love for Family

Being born without a true understanding of God made Anton not understand why God created him in the midst of the environment and family he has today. Yet, God uses various ways to bring together people who long for Him with His congregation. 

This is what Anton experienced, a young man who decided to study the Bible after hearing about his mother's meeting with a sister from Malang Congregation. digital After that, Anton's mother contacted the Bible Talk Single Ministry Malang. 

Anton loves his family very much, and he never keeps score when a member of his family asks for help. However, he has a reactive personality, so he often did not show the right way to express his love for them. This caused various frictions that affected the harmony of his family. 

The eldest son of two siblings first heard God's word from Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for peace and not for disaster, to give you a future full of hope.” This verse gave new hope to Anton, and especially to his family life, so he wanted to know God more deeply. Even his mother's decision not to continue Bible Study did not dim Anton's conviction in God. 

Anton was so eager to examine God's word, both through his quiet time and Bible Study. The sincerity of his heart reminds us of Acts 17:11: “Now the Jews in that city were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see whether these things were so.” The cross of Jesus gave him a new life, so that he became someone willing to be guided, helped, and eager to give. 

Now Anton is much closer to his family. He is learning to accept all their shortcomings, striving to control his emotional reactions, loving his parents more, and becoming an older brother who protects his younger sibling. Anton has also become a happier person, because he knows that God always plans peace for him. His way of life has impacted his younger sibling, who decided to seriously study the word.

On October 26, 2019, Anton decided to become a disciple of Jesus even though his mother did not welcome that decision. Anton understands that by knowing and loving God, he must also obey His commands. He now brings new color to Singles & Professionals Ministry Malang, and has become someone who can always be relied on to serve. Praise the Lord!
