THE LORD WHO HEALS (YAHWEH ROPHE)

One of the covenants between God and the people of Israel was that if they would truly listen to the voice of the LORD, do what is right in the sight of the LORD, and follow all His statutes, then the LORD would not strike them with the diseases they had suffered in Egypt, for the LORD is the one who heals. (Exodus 15:26)

In fact, the source of all sorrow, suffering, and destruction is sin. If only we could live according to the Word of God, then all the consequences of sin could be avoided. But if we who have already experienced all those consequences of sin want to return to God, then He is able to heal our spiritual suffering. God heals broken hearts, damaged relationships, the bitterness of life, and suffering.

Psalm 103:1-5, "Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul! Bless His holy name, all that is within me! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all His benefits! He forgives all your iniquities, He heals all your diseases, He redeems your life from the pit, He crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, He satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."

Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds"

Psalm 41:4-5, "The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; on his bed of illness You restore him completely. As for me, I said: ‘LORD, have mercy on me, heal me, for I have sinned against You!’"
