THE LORD IS GOOD

Mark 10:18, Jesus answered: "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone"

When speaking with the rich young man, Jesus was saying that if the young man called Jesus good, then he knew that Jesus is Lord. Jesus, who is Lord, knew that God's nature is good. Psalm 73:1 declares that God is good, especially to those who are pure in heart. Nahum 1:7 explains that the goodness of God will be seen by those who need His protection.

Psalm 145:9, "The LORD is good to all, and His compassion is over all that He has made."

Psalm 86:5, "For You, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and abundant in steadfast love to all who call upon You."

Psalm 69:17, "Answer me, O LORD, for Your steadfast love is good; turn to me according to Your great mercy!"

Psalm 100:5, "For the LORD is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness continues through all generations."

Lamentations 3:25, "The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him."

Romans 2:4, "Or do you presume on the riches of His kindness, His patience, and His forbearance? Do you not know that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?"
