THE LORD WHO SANCTIFIES (YAHWEH M'KADDESH)

Leviticus 20:7-8, Therefore consecrate yourselves, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God. So keep My statutes and do them; I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

Of course we know that no matter how great our deeds may be, they cannot instantly make us holy. But it is God who sanctifies us when we are willing to do what God commands in our lives.

Verses for Reflection:

Exodus 31:13, "Speak to the people of Israel and say: Above all, you shall keep My Sabbaths, for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, so that you may know that I am the LORD, who sanctifies you."

Ezekiel 37:28, "Then the nations will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever."

Leviticus 21:8, "You shall regard him as holy, because he offers the food of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I, the LORD, who sanctify you am holy."

2 Thessalonians 2:13, "But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth."

1 Thessalonians 5:23, "May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your spirit, soul, and body be kept whole and blameless at the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord."

1 Corinthians 1:30, "But by Him you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God. He is our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption."
