4 Secrets Behind God's Blessings Worth Exploring

Following God is indeed not merely about blessings. Yet when God's blessings are not visible in our lives, it is easy for us to feel disappointed.

Especially if we have made various efforts so that our lives may be full of blessings. And the result is nothing. We become brokenhearted, hopeless, and no longer enthusiastic.

At times, we begin comparing our lives with those of others. People who do not know God seem more successful, with more abundant provision than those who want to live rightly.

Is it true that you have not received God's blessing? I want to share 4 things that are worth learning about blessings.

God's Blessings Always Provide Enough

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you may abound in every good work.

Do you know that the LORD is in fact a most generous God? . The verse above says that God is able, to pour out all grace so that we have enough in all things and even abound in every good work.

I remember the two years of the pandemic that happened recently. At first I was very worried. I was afraid the small business I managed would not survive, because sales had dropped drastically.

But when I reflected on it again, I realized something. The economy was so difficult last year, yet all basic needs were met!

There were no arrears in tuition, employee salaries, electricity, water, Wi-Fi, or medical expenses.

Seeing all of that, I became even more convinced that God always provides enough. Even when I myself was doubtful and worried.

Try looking back at the things God has provided in your life. That is God's blessing! God does not say He will make you rich. But God promises to meet all that you need.

Philippians 4:19 My God will supply all your needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.

Persevere in Prayer, God Will Give

Of course we may ask God for more. And the best way is through prayer.

As I write this point, I am reminded of Jacob. It is told in Genesis 32:24-29 that Jacob wrestled with an angel. Jacob would not let him go before he was blessed. In the end, Jacob's hip socket was struck out of joint so that the angel could get free from him.

That angel even changed Jacob's name to Israel because he had struggled with God and prevailed.

At times, we want a blessed life. Yet we ourselves do not ask, do not pray persistently to God. We may pray, but halfheartedly. Or we do not have a heart like Jacob's, who wrestled until he was blessed. If that is what happens, how will we receive blessings from God?

Being a small trader in a traditional market means my life is determined by the daily sales I get. When sales are good, I am incredibly happy. But when sales are poor, my courage shrinks.

Yet the prayers I offer every day before starting that work are life-giving strength.

Sometimes when it is time to fulfill my obligation to pay the bills that are due, suddenly the market looks quiet, with few people shopping. I become anxious. But when I keep praying, suddenly toward noon, buyers begin to come. At the end of the day, the bills that were due are covered as well.

Day after day, I have seen how important it is to pray, asking God to bless my work. And how real God's unexpected help is every day because of prayer!

Ephesians 3:20 To Him who is able to do far more than what we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

When we pray, God is able to do far beyond what we ask or even think! Because His power is at work!

Trust in God, Whatever the Circumstances

Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the person who trusts in the LORD, whose hope is in the LORD! He will be like a tree planted by the water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when scorching heat comes, whose leaves stay green, which is not anxious in a year of drought, and does not stop bearing fruit.

Do we realize how very small our power is compared to God's?

Whatever happens outside of us is never predictable. Who knows what trouble may come tomorrow?

So, without depending on God, the onslaught of one problem after another will surely make us collapse.

The verse above says that the person who depends on the Lord and hopes in the Lord  is a person who is blessed.

Because that person will grow stronger, remain unshaken in every season, keep bearing fruit, keep producing. He will always endure even when life is not going well. God's blessing will keep flowing.

Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you and give you grace; the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace.

Miracles Do Not Happen by Chance, Work So That Miracles Happen

berkat-GKDI-4

John 5:17 But He said to them: “My Father is working until now, and I too am working.”

A famous ancient proverb says: “Ora et Labora” which means pray and work. The same is true for us today. If we want to be blessed, it is certainly not enough merely to pray and believe. Because God also wants us to work!

Therefore, keep doing what you must do. Put away laziness, and work with all your heart and sincerity to receive that blessing.

At the time appointed by God, it is not impossible for God to bless you beyond what you think. In fact, it may be that you receive a miracle in your life.

Who knows, perhaps suddenly you will be promoted to a higher position? Or suddenly the business you started from nothing will grow rapidly.

All these things happen not apart from our own effort as well. Hard work accompanied by prayer, and surrender, trusting in all His ways and His will.
